Job Description
Manager in their absence. The Site Supervisor is on site with the trade teams for the full working day.
Direct the day's work activities for all trades on site in line with the Site Manager's priorities and the construction programme.
Coordinate the sequencing of Carpenter, Plumbing, Painting/Plastering, Welding and other trades to avoid clashes and rework.
Conduct daily quality checks across active work areas and direct rectification of defects at the earliest opportunity.
Conduct daily pre-start toolbox talks and monitor SWMS compliance across all trades on site.
Identify and correct unsafe conditions or behaviour on the spot, and report hazards and incidents to the Site Manager immediately.
Confirm materials and plant required for the day's work are on site and ready before trades commence.
Provide a verbal or written end-of-day update to the Site Manager covering progress, quality
and safety matters
🎓 Qualifications
Age: 25-45 years old
Trade qualification or certificate in a construction trade or Building/Construction
Supervision. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Minimum 3 years in a site supervisory role within a building construction environment.
Practical knowledge of construction sequencing, common trade methods and reading of construction drawings.
Current first aid certification. Experience on Australian Government-funded construction projects in PNG.
Working knowledge of site WHS requirements and applicable SWMS.
Demonstrated ability to direct trade crews and labour on a live construction site
